Moore, Ely
(4 jul. 1798, cerca de Belvidere, N.J., EE.UU.–27 ene. 1860, Lecompton, Territorio de Kansas).

Propietario estadounidense de periódico. Impresor y director de diario, fue el primer presidente de la federación de gremios del oficio (1833). Al año siguiente fue elegido presidente de la Unión Nacional Sindical, la que se unió con Tammany Hall para elegirlo miembro de la Cámara de Representantes. En la Cámara colaboró en buscar apoyo para la jornada laboral de 10 horas. Al término de su segundo período, en 1839, fue inspector del puerto de Nueva York y después director del Warren Journal de Nueva Jersey.
